Condiment is the best new magazine I’ve seen this season. Hailing from Melbourne, Australia, the magazine addresses “the relationship between food and creativity and food and community.” The design is great and the pages are adorned with colorful photographs from artists like Melanie Bolajo. One of my favorite articles ‘Ready for the Table’ is about a collection of vessels – baskets, ceramic dishes, and bowls carved out of bone. R. Swallow who lives in L.A. collects these objects at local flea markets and occasionally on ebay. No magazine about food could be complete without recipes, and Condiment provides six at the end of the magazine for your tasting pleasure. The recipes for White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake and for Miso Fish with Herby Cabbage Coleslaw sound amazing.
